1981 MD Helicopter 500D for sale. This aircraft is a 369/500 D enthusiast collectors item as one of the last Ds to come off the Hughes production line with very low hours for the year, privately used, benefiting from an MD factory E conversion and autopilot. The helicopter was manufactured by Hughes Helicopters as a 369D model in January 1981 & operated in the USA until 1986.During this first five years the helicopter was modified & fitted with an 'E' model nose, E bulkheads, horizontal stabilizer end plates by the MD factory. The helicopter has remained in private use for its time in the UK. Approximately £100,000 has been spent on this aircraft in the past six months including new metallic black paint by Edmunsons, New & part refurbished stone leather interior, new screens, and an new installed Fargo aux tank. The engine & gearbox were fully stripped and rebuilt by H & S during AD embodiments at a cost of £40,000 I - August 2011. The aircraft benefits from a full MD "E" conversion privately used and hangered with a full avionics suite including GPS, VOR, Radalt ADF with a Collins APS 841 2 axis autopilot and a comprehensive option pack including particle separator & comp wash.
