Most FAQs: Questions Frequently asked questions

 Most FAQs: Answers FAQ answers
  1. I'm having trouble contacting the seller of an aeroplane, can you help?

As a search engine for online aircraft ads, we don't hold the contact details of the seller, as they don't register with us. This information should be with the host site (GPS Featured Site), therefore, you will need to contact the hosting site for any other contact information.

  1. Why are old airplane ads still listed?

As an aircraft ad search engine, we search the internet for aircraft ads on a daily basis (and update GPS). Unfortunately, some of the websites either don't maintain their listings as they should or the advertiser fails to remove their sold aircraft. In order to assist you, we do keep track of when aircraft are listed or updated, and show an ad age (expressed in days) against each ad. When using our search facility you can use the keywords SINCE x DAYS, which will limit the results to the number of days specified by 'x'. We hope this will assist you to discern between current and old ads.

  1. I've sold my aircraft but you still have it listed and I keep receiving calls?

This means that you still have your aircraft ad hosted on one of our (Featured Sites), and therefore, automatically listed on GPS. If you make sure that you remove all your ads from our Featured Sites, it will automatically be removed from GPS.

It also means that listing your aircraft through GPS is a great way to advertise your aircraft or even your entire aircraft inventory!

  1. Why are duplicate aircraft listed?

Aircraft ads are sometimes listed on multiple sites, therefore, they are listed multiple times on GPS, once for each site. Although we understand that it is frustrating to see duplicate ads, it's not always possible to identify them (by s/n or registration, etc.) and we also have a moral dilemma of which sites' ads would we leave out. Other search engines don't leave out duplicate results either.

We do however, try to make every effort to remove duplicate ads within the same site, although this is not always possible.

  1. How do I list my aircraft on your site?

Whether you have a single aircraft to advertise or your entire inventory that is either listed on your own website or not, visit our 'List Your Aircraft' page to review your options and subscribe.

Decide on the average number of aircraft that you will advertise and then click on the letter associated with the 'Pay Scale'. You will then be able to select a price for the period you want to advertise, along with a list of currencies we accept.

Then just email us with either the URL of your web site that host the aircraft, for automatic inclusion, or provided details of your aircraft, including a photo if you have them, and we will load it on to our system manually.

  1. Why do I sometimes see aircraft make, model or price etc. listed incorrectly?

Unlike other search engines we don't just display the data as it's found, which is usually unreadable and off the subject matter. Being an advanced search engine, when we crawl the Internet for aircraft ads the data is gathered into our system and goes through a number of regurgitation processes to turn it into a readable format. As this process is dependent on the quality of the initial data and our human designed & controlled processes, errors are bound to creep in.

For example, if the data contains Total Time information 'TT: 1978', this my be displayed as 'Year 1978' if the TT were missing. For more help with searches, see our 'Search Tips' page.

  1. Can you help us to locate an aircraft?

Yes, although we mainly deal in airliners and commuter aircraft. Please review our 'InfoBase' pages for more details.

  1. Why aren't there any wanted ads, aircraft engines or parts listings?

We currently don't list these, although some do creep into our system. A Wanted section and aircraft engines is something that we intend to look at in future releases.

  1. Why are some major aircraft sales sites' listings not displayed in your search engine results?

Not all sites fully understand what we are about and have requested that their listings be excluded from GPS. Yet one of our major Featured Sites regularly receives over 175,000 click throughs per month from us, showing that their relationship with us is of great benefit to them, so it's difficult to see why these other sites should opt out?

  1. How do I advertise our company's services on your site?

Simply review our Site Advertising page to see what we can offer or email us if you require something different.

  1. What if I am a victim of fraud or suspect an ad as fruadulant?

Please read our Fraud Alert page to see what you can do and find useful links.
