Description

After more than a decade with the RV8-grin it is time to go STOL-flying.

Serial number 80033. Project traded two times prior to completion in 2013. Pictures online, search OY-RVK

National Permit to fly 11/12-2027.
Next annual inspection March 2026.

Imported year 2016 from Germany (D-ERVC. 49 TT) to DK (OY-RVK. 456 TT (counting, still in service)).

Aircraft in heated hangar all year round.

Numerous modifications to engine and airframe made after import to DK.

Beringer wheels/brakes and parking brake, mounted December 2021.

Light tailwheel (JDair.com). mounted March 2025.

Airplane time state:
Engine:
Lycoming IO-360-C1C 200 hp modified engine, casing marked year 1973 inside, overhauled/repaired 2017/ inner casing wall modified/prepared for inverted flight by top outer corner holes for oil-pick-up via breather fitting.

Cold air induction oil sump mounted instead of initial AEIO oil sump by builder.

Oil/air separator from breather hose with drainage to oil sump (antisplataero.com), hence no inverted flight oil pick up utilized.

Throttle and mixture control cables renewed and protected against radiation heat with double layer of fire sleeves.

Master and Starter solenoid relocated horizontal to avoid unintended starter engagement during rough landing.

Dual electronic ignition (flyefii.com) with manual plug-in display for adjustments. Mach 2025 Right ignition coil, all sparkplugs, wires and caps renewed.
Odyssey PC680 for both main and backup battery.

Vetterman 1-3,2-4 exhaust with muffler for reduction of cabin noise (small efficiency trade-off for comfort).

Sky-tec starter

Propeller/governor:
Propeller 456 TT hours (counting, including time prior to prob strike 115 TT), 3 blade prop with counter weights, MTV-12-B-C, model C18359B (pressure to fine). Cosmetic wear and tear.

MT Governor type P-880-4 TT same as propeller.

Avionics

Dynon 7" and 10" screen for engine monitoring system and navigation respectively (map not up-dated, using SkyDemon on separate device in parallel).

Dynon Autopilot.

Funke Radio 8,33.

Trig 22 Transponder monitored and operated via Dynon.

TRX 1500 FLARM monitored via Dynon.

Interior

Internal 7/10, black leader seats with grey centre fabric, dark grey painted inner surfaces.

Exterior

External 7/10 - some cosmetic paint brush ups and glass fibre work to be made.

Vetterman 1-4,2-3 exhaust with nozzle for smoke system and hole for vacuum for oil breather oil-/air separator.
Exhaust initial by builder supported/damped onto engine mount resulting in fatigue and numerous repairs on exhaust.
Smoke system (dismounted, 20 litter tank for smoke oil in front compartment resulting in front location of COG).
Christen inverted oil system (dismounted to avoid oil moisture build up in condenser-bucket ).
Oil sump from AEIO 360 engine with fittings for inverted flight from original builder.
Old cylinders and pistons.
Rear control for steering, stick, rudder and throttle (dismounted).
Original main wheels and Cleveland brakes from Vans.
Original tail wheel assembly from Vans.

Damage history:
No known damage prior to import November 2016.
March 2017 Engine overhauled by local professional GA workshop at 70 TT hours due to nearly loss of cylinder(bolts) showing fretting damage on inner casing surfaces after 20 hours of flight time.
September 2017, Bird strike on right fuel tank resulting in small dent in leading edge. Dent repaired with professional help November 2021.
December 2017, Prop strike, Blade tips contact with ground due to soft ground during taxi, engine professional shock load-inspected and 4 new cylinder kits mounted by local professional GA workshop TT 115. Propeller and governor overhauled by MT.
Jan 2022, EMS monitor of charging amp to battery stopped working (EMS to be repaired by Dynon), charging indicated by battery voltage instead.
