Description

N65280 was delivered new from the factory in Wichita to its current owner in November 2004. The aircraft has been privately owned, flown only under Part 91. It has been used exclusively by the family for vacation getaways, hauling kids and their belongings off to college, and regular proficiency/training flights. The kids are grown up, out of college, and it's time for N65280's owner to scale back and find a new owner for this very nice Stationair.

This clean Turbo 206 has low hours on the airframe and engine, and it continues to be flown regularly by its owner. It has been hangared in dry Arizona since new. Paint and interior are in excellent condition, and logbooks and other documentation are complete since day one. The owner has a particular affection for this aircraft, and it shows. N65280 is ready for any mission, and it promises to deliver the performance and utility it was designed for by the factory.

Interior

INTERIOR - 8.5/10 The interior condition and appearance are consistent with a gently used family transport aircraft. The leather seats are in good condition with no damage or appreciable wear. The headliner and side panels are clean, in good order, and have a spartan, rugged appearance from the factory. I noted only two minor issues with the interior: there is some scuffing damage to the bottom portion of the rear utility door panel, and also some similar scuffing on the pilot's door panel below the armrest. These minor issues are documented in the image gallery below; most would not consider these nitpicks to be an issue. Note in the image gallery pictures that the rear two seats have been removed. The seats are covered and securely stored in the hangar and are included, along with the factory cargo net and installation hardware.

PANEL - 9/10 N65280's instrument panel features the high-end Garmin "NAV III" G1000 option offered by Cessna for their premium single engine aircraft. The system was upgraded with a GTX-345R transponder to address ADS-B requirements, adding ADS-B IN features (this was the better way to address ADS-B, instead of going the lesser expensive route of using a uAvionix tail beacon as seen on many other similar aircraft). The overall avionics package is absolutely wonderful, missing only the Stormscope option and WAAS upgrades to the dual GPS units. The overall appearance of the panel is clean and factory stock.

Exterior

9/10 This T206H's exterior is consistent with an always-hangared and well cared for aircraft of its age. The general appearance of the exterior is consistent with the many detailed pictures shown in the gallery below. During the extensive walkaround inspection, I found no evidence of hangar rash or hail damage. The sheet aluminum body is in excellent condition, as are the fiberglass cowling sections around the engine. Even the towbar connection point above the nosewheel is void of the typical scratches commonly seen on these aircraft.

The current/original owner specifically ordered the aircraft without accent stripes. If you prefer more color, the aircraft is a blank slate, ready for professionally applied vinyl stripes or paint with a design of your choice. You aren't stuck with the factory colors or scheme!

Under close scrutiny, I found several cosmetic nitpicks which may catch the attention of an astute buyer. The right wing wingtip cover has a crack which has been stop-drilled and is not an issue. And, the right horizontal stabilizer tip also has two cracks which have been stop-drilled. Lastly, there is a minor paint chip where the utility cargo door latch has made contact with the opposing door - again, not an issue, only cosmetic. That is the extent of any cosmetic issues seen during the walkaround, and these issues are documented up close in the detailed images below.

All plexiglas windows and the windshield are in excellent condition - no crazing or unusual scratches/blemishes were noted. Tires are in good condition and are nearly new. The gear legs and wheel fairings are in clean shape and do not show any unusual wear.
