Description

The Falco, commonly known as the Ferrari of the skies, is an Italian aircraft designed by Stelio Frati in 1955. Its timeless design features a sleek, laminar flow thin wing that minimises drag and maximises speed. Constructed from plans with laminated spruce (sequoia) and birch ply finish, the Falco boasts incredible strength and resilience, allowing it to handle a +6g -3g capability with maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) 854Kg.
With its impressive roll rate of 120 per second, the Falco requires gentle and precise control inputs for smooth flying. Although it is not a training aircraft, it excels in serious 2 seat touring and can confidently land on runways as short as 500 metres, with a takeoff distance of only 200 metres yet cruise comfortably at 150+ knots.
G-OCAD, offers ample baggage space behind the seats with a maximum weight capacity of 40 kilograms. Additionally, there is a small stowage area located below the rear fuel tank. The cabin provides excellent visibility from all angles during cruise, along with efficient air ducting for cooling. The comfortable seats and relaxed joystick position enhance the overall flying experience. With fuel tanks positioned fore and aft, the Falco offers impressive endurance.

Why for sale?
It is with great regret that I need to sell this aircraft as I have used it as a tourer for 13 years and been to many European destinations. However my mobility has declined over the years and I am finding it more difficult to access and maintain G-OCAD as my flexibility has reduced due to back problems.

Background
G-OCAD has mainly been hangared in France where I live the majority of the time and is available for viewing at LFMZ now or later in the year in the UK. Free hangarage is available for 6 months after purchase at LFMZ if required.

I have invested heavily in new avionics recently with the decision to move to a very reliable Garmin platform. This includes Pitch and Roll autopilot and Flight Director along with all the other navigation, engine monitoring, SIL 3 rated transponder, ADSB In-Out and radio integration that the Garmin G3X has to offer.

Viewing
Initially this is available in France at LFMZ (Lezignan-Corbieres) which is easily accessible by Ryanair flights to Carcassonne. It is expected G-OCAD will later be at EGBD (Derby) providing it has not already been sold.
I will accept payment in GBP or EUROS and offer 6 months free hangarage at LFMZ for the first 6 months
