Originally built under the MDAP (Military Defense Aid Program) through NATO for the U.S. Army, this iconic L-18C was later shipped to France and operated as 18-1627 by the Aviation L g re de l Arm e de Terre. Following service in Holland, it was brought to the UK, where it flew with several distinguished owners including the renowned Tiger Club.

This aircraft underwent a comprehensive engine and airframe restoration in 2014 15, which included a complete re-fabric using synthetic materials with a dope finish. Featuring all-metal wings and fuselage, it benefits from sealed wing struts, twin fuel tanks (up to 8-hour range). The engine has 1618 hours and It can run on UL91 or 100LL. G-BBYB is equipped with a Trig 8.33 kHz radio.
