Description

Beautiful example of a 1941 J3 Piper cub. This is the one of the rare model Franklin engine cubs with an original Franklin 4AC-176 engine.

Imported from the USA in 2019 by the current owner, it was put back in the air after an extensive rebuild project over a number of years. All hardware replaced, engine was removed from aircraft in January 2024 and received a complete teardown to replace the camshaft with an overhauled camshaft (due to small pitting from years of storage).

Engine is very smooth running, makes 80hp and youll never be dissapointed with the new hercules prop installed.

Magnetos, Prop and Carb were all freshly installed on the initial flight in 2022.

Aircraft has an 8.33Khz Radio and Mode S transponder powered by two portable batteries.

This vintage aircraft does not carry a starter motor or alternator (making it super light and fun to fly). Hand starting from behind the prop is easy and safe.

Airplane time state:
Airframe: 3600

Engine: 17 Hours (since stripdown and rebuild)
Magnetos: 46 Hours since overhaul (August 2022)
Propeller (Hercules): 46 Hours since new
Carb: 46 Hours since overhaul

Other additions:
New Lang tailwheel
New Engine mounts
Lots of extra spare parts included (for both airframe and engine)

Funkwerk ATR833-II OLED COM Radio Intercom
Funke TRT800H OLED Mode S Transponder
