Description
25% Share in Pitts S-2B G-EFIZ
Asking Price: 35,000
An exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire a 25% share in a Pitts S-2B aerobatic biplane, based at Bidford Airfield in Warwickshire. With very few shares in dedicated aerobatic aircraft available across the Midlands, this represents a fantastic opportunity for a pilot looking to enjoy serious aerobatic flying without the full costs of sole ownership.
The Pitts S-2B should not be confused with the earlier S-2A. The S-2B benefits from a considerably more powerful 260hp Lycoming engine compared with the S-2A's 200hp, along with a larger, more accommodating cockpit and improved performance. The additional power makes the S-2B a particularly capable aerobatic aircraft, equally suited to recreational aerobatics and competition flying.
G-EFIZ is powered by a 260hp Lycoming AEIO-540 engine, which underwent a full zero-hour overhaul in May 2026, alongside the installation of a brand-new three-blade MT propeller. Both have accumulated just 13 hours since installation. This substantial recent investment makes the aircraft an attractive proposition for its next shareholder.
The aircraft has also recently undergone a comprehensive 1,000-hour airframe inspection, further demonstrating the ongoing investment in its maintenance and upkeep.
The aircraft is equipped with inverted fuel and oil systems, a smoke system and Hooker aerobatic harnesses in both cockpits. A modern engine management system provides comprehensive monitoring of engine parameters, including RPM, manifold pressure, CHT, EGT, oil temperature and pressure, fuel pressure, fuel flow and fuel quantity.
The aircraft has been maintained to a high standard and benefits from considerable recent investment.
The share also includes a 25% ownership interest in the aircraft's hangar at Bidford Airfield, which has a concrete floor and electrical connection. Bidford offers an excellent club atmosphere, with regular events and a friendly, active aviation community.
The Ownership Group
The share is being offered for sale solely due to the relocation abroad of an existing shareholder, who has been part of the group for over 15 years. This is a reluctant sale brought about by a change in personal circumstances rather than any issue with the aircraft or ownership arrangement.
I am also an existing shareholder in G-EFIZ, offering prospective purchasers the opportunity to deal directly with someone who knows the aircraft, its history and the group personally.
The existing ownership group is small, friendly and easy-going, with a genuine enthusiasm for flying. The aircraft is currently underutilised, and the group is keen to welcome another enthusiastic pilot who will make good use of it.
Aerobatic competition flying is actively welcomed, making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their aerobatic skills, participate in competitions or simply enjoy flying one of the most iconic aerobatic biplanes ever built.

We would encourage interested pilots to get in touch to discuss their flying experience and suitability for the group.
Enquiries
Opportunities to purchase a share in a dedicated aerobatic aircraft are few and far between, particularly in the Midlands. With a freshly overhauled engine, brand-new propeller, recent 1,000-hour airframe inspection, affordable ongoing costs, an established hangar and a welcoming ownership group, G-EFIZ offers an excellent opportunity to get involved in Pitts ownership.
For further information or an informal discussion, please contact MAWL Aviation. As an existing shareholder, I would be happy to discuss the aircraft, the group and the flying opportunities available.
