Description

The Monnett Sonerai 2L is a nice cheap tail drager, with a VW 2186 CC 75 HP engine. It is a two seat tail drager with a nice 115kn cruise airspeed. Endurance is - with 37 liter - about 1,5 hours with reserve, sipping only 12-15ltr per hour. Range is 450 NMiles if you include the extra fuel 40ltr tank on the front seat, as option. The plane is aerobatic approved for positive G's, eg Loops and Rolls. No inverted oil and fuel option.

The Sonerai license is back in the hands of Sonex company. Parts for the plane and engine are cheap and easy to get.

Airplane time state:
In 2019 the airplanes was covered with 3M quality foil for a new outlook. No corrosion on wings or hull.
The landing gear is strong.

Total time about 370 hours, still flying.

Engine in good shape, being overhauled in 2019 as well.
Also new battery installed in 2019.

Avionics

Basic 6 instruments with 8,33kHrz Trig Radio and Trig Mode S Transponder, bought in 2019

Interior

Basic 6 instruments with 8,33kHrz Trig Radio and Trig Mode S transponder.
.
Max weight for two pilots and luggage is no issue. Monnet designed the plane so that as long you can fit, you can fly it. Take off performance with MTOW still in the 700 fpm.
Front passenger could have issues getting in at first, but when you sit, there is enough leg and head room. Back is the pilot flying, which should not be taller then 182 due to head space against the cockpit cap. But leg room is still ok. Only issue could be to move the legs if the front passenger has a big bottom ....

Exterior

Really a crowd pleaser if you land this airplane on other airfield. One of a kind.

Additional Features

Extra 40liter fuel tank for placement on front seat for more than double the range to about 450Nm.

Extra prop for climb performance if needed

There is no better way to fly cheap, but fast on a taildragger. Behaviour on air and on the ground is nice. If you can land a Piper cub, then this is you plane. Also very light steering, direct but not twitchy.
This is a must sell airplane to get new hangar space for another new airplane. make me an offer I can't refuse.
The Dutch PH- registration is one of the best in Europe. It is easy to fly the PH-WHY in your own country, costing only 100 euro on yearly basis to renew. Maintenance can be done by yourself or by your local mechanic, what you like. I can help you with this all
