Shadow DD 582 5000Due to the purchase of a new aircraft, this project is now for sale, details as follows:-
Lynton trailer. This is an original Shadow trailer, although it s not in amazing condition, it s now waterproof and structurally sound. In 2022, I fitted a complete new back door, new tires (including spare), new jockey wheel, new LED lighting and serviced the brakes. If you have a Shadow, it fits!
Shadow DD G-MZNH.
This widebody/582/dual control Shadow was built in 1998 and has done approx. 1152 hours. It was put in storage in 2012 and hasn t flown since.
My original plan was to restore it to it s former glory (or better), so I have completely stripped it down, as you can see from the photos.
The situation is as follows:-
Fuselage Stripped and ready to commence restoration.
Wings Stripped, prepared, re-riveted and all glue removed. These are now ready for painting and covering.
Tail Stripped, prepared, re-riveted. Ready for recovering.
Fin Stripped and ready to commence restoration.
Boom New Crosbie tail mod completed, stripped and painted. Ready for rebuild.
That s all the basics, however I have purchased the following items, to complete the restoration, which are included in the sale-
1. Jedi aluminium main tank & slipper tank. Powder coated in black. Cost 1300.
2. Wheels spats, fairings. Fibreglass. Ready to fit. Cost 320.
3. Tyres. New tyres & bearings all round and nose wheel already overhauled. Cost 100
4. High density foam. 600 x 600 x 25mm x 12 sheets. This is grey, but it s the direct replacement for the blue foam in all shadows. Cost 100.
5. Araldite 2005. The current version. Cost 200
6. Screen. New clear plastic 1.5mm to make a replacement screen. 150.
7. Plywood. Aero ply to make a new D-Box for the centre section. 100.
8. Tail Mod. Complete. Cost 115.
Engine Rotax 582 Silvertop. Last inspected in 2012, at 1110 hours. However it had a replacement crankshaft as part of the major service at 810 hours in 2006. Manual start and Gearbox included.
My feeling is that it s probably in good condition, but will definitely need recommissioning.

Happy to deliver for a mutually agreed fee or you can collect it, everything is loaded into the trailer and ready to go from my workshop in Northamptonshire.
