J3 36000For sale is this excellent example of a very rare J3F (Franklin) piper cub.

Imported by current owner to Ireland in 2020 and restored to fly in 2023. The aircraft has had the following work performed:

Airframe
Total Airframe time 3580 hours
Both main wing fabric sprayed with rejuvinator and yellow
Sealed wing struts (no repeat inspection of the AD)
New Lang tailwheel installed

Avionics:
Funke 8.33OLED and TRT Transponder installed with intercom

Engine:
Total engine time since new 56.7 hours (originally built 1990)
Engine dissasembled, IRAN with all 4 cylinders honed, new rings and all valves done in 2024.
Overhauled camshaft done by ILAS engine shop in 2024 due spalling lobe.
Carb Overhauled by Marvel
New Blue label bendix mags installed
Prop new from Hercules
New shielded plugs
All cylinder compression above 78PSI.

One main tank of 12USG gives you approx 2.5 hours of flying to enjoy (more than my bladder).

The aircraft is in good condition but I dont have the time anymore to give it the attention it deserves and therefore I have advertised the sale.

The annual irish permit to fly inspection has been completed on 11/07/2025 and is due next in August 2026.
There really is a lot of value in this aircraft, but it does need some attention in some areas.
