For sale, G-TAPS, is a superbly equipped and beautifully presented Piper PA-28RT-201 Arrow IV that has been our family tourer for the past two years. The wonderful paint-job is regularly commented on. We ve travelled extensively across the UK, the Channel Islands, throughout France and as far south as the Alps comfortably touring 4-up with bags.

Fully equipped for IFR with digital engine monitor, this aircraft took me through my IR(R) exam the day after purchase, and it has proven itself a capable and confidence-inspiring platform. The autopilot takes the work-load off, although it flies so easily by hand anyway. Autopilot is able to fly GPS routes point to point and coupled approaches.

The Turbo is essential for those longer journeys, enabling you to effortlessly climb into the flight levels or above the Alps. It also increases the useful load and performance. Management is made easy by the Garmin engine monitor that will in addition to CHT/EGTs also show you accurately how much is left in the tanks and how much fuel you re burning.

It s exceptionally good at short-field too despite what you might read. 600M grass trips at MTOW are no problem (see youtube channel @ghoflyer with lots of under-wing footage from this aircraft). I ve been into 500m strips with no trouble but I wouldn t suggest any shorter.

If you re used to Warriors, Archers and Cessna s, the first thing you ll comment on is how smooth the engine is. A 6-cylinder with 3-bladed prop is a match made in heaven. Fellow pilots have exclaimed it s as smooth as being on a flying carpet and I can t disagree.

I m selling as I m building a kit-plane, an RV-10 - whilst I d love to keep the arrow budget doesn t allow.
