CONVERSION A to D

Airframe completely dissassembled, stripped (inside & out), all old wiring removed, all hydraulic lines removed (flex lines replaced with new aluminum lines, inspected and replaced, as neccassary).
Removed A" model tail section P/N 159-31301-101 and installed D" model tail section 200-31301-101 inside of fuselage painted green enamel, as needed, to match zinc-chromate color:
new circuit breaker panel made, new pilot & co-pilot command panels made using all new switches, rheostats & circuit breakers, fabricated new instrument panels and installed new or overhauled
instruments with proper markings; ran all new wiring to all systems as per T-28A maintenance manual T.0.1T-28A-2.

Installed speed braked system from T-28B as per AN01-60FGB-2 maintenance manual; removed high profile canopies P/N 159-31851 windscreen, 159- 31811 front canopy, 159-31812 rear canopy and installed
low profile canopies P/N 174-31851, 174-31811 & 174- 31812. Installed new surplus aileron, 125 gallon fuel cells P/N 159-48016-3 & 4 along with attaching hardware and installed 177 gallon fuel cells P/N 174-48002-1 & 2 in new inner wing
98003 ,"9128,a11 new attaching hardware: and 174- in n ew outer wing panels using new attaching hardware; installed new surplus aileron.

Gap seals P/N 159-16162; all cockpit fairings & panels stripped, etched, painted, and remarked ; pilot & copilot seats rebuilt and painted; landing gear rebuilt and painted(note:nose sear is heavy Trunnion),
brake system rebuilt using new brake disc, brake pucks and "O" rings; fabricated radio panels, front cockpit for installation of radios by Atlantic Aero, Greensboro, N.C. (337 in with weight and balance);
Removed R-1300-1B engine complete firewall forward and installed "O" SMOH 1820-56S engine and accessories (see engine log) installed.

Complete new surplus big engine cowling P/N 200- 31540 complete with cowl flap doors, cables, accuators and brackets; aircraft completely reassembled, rigid & greased,
using T.O.IT-28A-2 T-28/D maintenance manual and alle new AN hardware. gear retraction performed system check satisfactory, aircraft test run and all systems check satisfactory.
Etch entire airplane, masked and primed using Dupont 110S primer. Colors used were Imron 78389U gray on entire airframe, special mix green Imron (starting
with 2 quarts 29609UH and adding 535-5 units, 548-20 units, 555-50 units, 563-9 units) used in wheel wells flap wells, baggage door, speed brake, 508U white used
in stars and bars, 48UH red used instars and bars and detail work, 81501U dark blue used in stars and bars and lettering, 59373U off white used on landing gears all attached fittings.
99U black used in stencil work. Special mix copper Imron - all tips.
