Description

Piper L-4J Grasshopper, a combat veteran that still flies.

Some airplanes are restored. Some are preserved.
Very few actually lived the history. This Humble Little Warbird is one of those rare survivors.

This genuine WWII Piper L-4J Grasshopper flew operational missions in the Pacific Theatre from Guam and Saipan, logging approximately 300 wartime flight hours spotting artillery and carrying messages from rough jungle strips carved out of the front lines.

Against the odds, it survived.

In 2016, the aircraft was chosen as the EAA Sweepstakes Grand Prize, restored to museum-quality condition by respected Cub specialist Colin Powers, combining historical accuracy with outstanding craftsmanship.

Today it remains remarkably original, still powered by its factory-installed, matching-numbers engine, a level of authenticity rarely seen in flying warbirds.

And it continues to make history.
This very aircraft flew over Normandy during the 80th Anniversary D-Day commemorations, honoring the generation it once served. Not a static exhibit but living, flying heritage.

Maintained exclusively by a warbird specialist, always hangared, and accompanied by complete FAA documentation, logs, and spare parts, N1227N represents something few aircraft can offer: Real combat provenance. Authenticity. And the pure joy of flying a legend.

Own it. Fly it. Preserve the story.

Serious inquiries welcome.
