CAP 222, serial N 2, represents a substantial development and complete redesign of the Giles 202, undertaken to achieve a full EASA and FAA aerobatic certification under CS-23. Although visually similar to the Giles 202, this aircraft incorporates significant structural enhancements. The Cap 222 was over 95% complete towards full EASA CS-23 certification. Key distinctions between Cap 222 and G202 include:
A single one piece main wing spar replaces the two detachable wings.
Five attachment points are utilized per aileron, as opposed to the previous three.
