Description
This is a very solid, clean European-built example featuring a modern MT swept propeller and the desirable front-hinged canopy.
Four-axis electric trim makes it track perfectly straight. If you ve never flown a Lancair, you ll find it cuts through turbulence like a Bonanza or Cirrus SR22. The power-to-weight ratio at MTOW is top tier among SEP.
Push/pull-rod actuated controls, similar to a Mooney or Extra, make for a very rewarding flying experience.
This example benefits from a Ram Air induction manifold, allowing it to maintain strong manifold pressure at higher altitudes. Cruise performance is excellent down low and even stronger up high.
This is an exceedingly capable cross-country machine and also very comfortable.
Weights and Payload:
Empty weight: 510 kg
MTOW: 765 kg
Useful load: 255 kg
Full-fuel weight 160 liters / 116 kg
Full-fuel payload: 139 kg
Payload for 400 NM mission at 185 knots is: 185 kg
Real-world Performance you can verify on a demo flight.
2,000 feet:
23"/2300 RPM = 170 knots IAS, <30 L/h
25"/2500 RPM = 185 knots IAS, ~34 L/h
Lower power settings still yield impressive speeds.
8,000 feet:
23"/2300 RPM = about185 knots TAS
25"/2500 RPM = 195-205 knots TAS depending on temperature and wheight.
At 65 70% power at mid altitude, consumption is around 8 USG/h (total 44 USG usable), giving 4.5 hours plus 1-hour reserve 185 knots = ~830 NM range plus reserve.

My vision where to evolve it into a full IFR touring machine for my European business needs, but with limited personal time available for a full Garmin upgrade, I ve chosen to see if another pilot will take it on. EU VAT paid.
