Description
AA1A 27500This immaculate 1971 Grumman AA1 is undoubtedly the best example of this model we have seen flying and benefits from several upgrades from standard including a 150hp Lycoming engine and Hoffman Prop, for much increased performance, as well as the later A-model wing, offering refined handling characteristics over the earlier variant. Avionics includes Trig Mode S Transponder and 8.33 com, perfect for VFR flying across the UK and beyond.
The AA1-A version introduced a modified wing aerofoil with stall strips on the leading edge over the earlier AA1 Yankee variant. This change made the stall more docile and improved the aircraft's takeoff and landing characteristics, making it more suitable as a basic trainer aircraft. The handling was made less "twitchy" than the original model, though the aircraft still requires proper speed management as with all aircraft.
Low time Airframe (2805hrs +/-) Engine and Prop (725hrs +/-) and In Annual to the end of March 2026, offering several months of maintenance free flying.
The perfect light aeroplane. This little machine really is a true delight to fly!
