Description

1963 Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee restoration project for sale.

The aircraft was originally operated in the United Kingdom under registration G-BPWL. It was imported to Hungary in 2025 with the intention of completing a full restoration and converting it for glider-towing operations. Due to a change of plans, the restoration project was not continued.

The aircraft has been customs-cleared and released for free circulation within the European Union. The relevant EU import and customs documents are available.

The aircraft is currently located in Hungary and is offered as a non-airworthy restoration project. It is suitable for restoration, agricultural use, glider-towing conversion or collection purposes.

Complete historical documentation and logbooks are available up to the aircraft s last operational period.

The aircraft has not flown since 2010. The engine can be turned by hand, but due to the long period of inactivity, a detailed technical inspection is required before return to service.

The engine has a relatively low time since major overhaul. Under Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014, Part-ML, in particular ML.A.302 concerning the Aircraft Maintenance Programme, a manufacturer-recommended TBO does not automatically require an immediate major overhaul unless the overhaul is made mandatory by an applicable Airworthiness Directive, Airworthiness Limitation, mandatory continuing-airworthiness requirement or the applicable Aircraft Maintenance Programme.

Subject to inspection, verification of the records, engine condition and approval by the responsible licensed maintenance personnel, continued operation without an immediate major overhaul may therefore be possible.

Additional Features

The aircraft has been fully customs-cleared and released for free circulation within the European Union. All relevant customs and import documents are available.

A complete restoration and return-to-service programme can be arranged in Hungary through qualified aviation specialists. The work may include airframe inspection, corrosion treatment, fabric replacement, engine inspection, propeller inspection, control-system inspection, electrical work, avionics testing and preparation of the required maintenance documentation.

Depending on the agreed scope of work, parts availability and certification requirements, the complete restoration may be completed within a few months.

The engine has approximately 309 hours since major overhaul. A new major overhaul is not automatically required solely because of the manufacturer s calendar TBO recommendation. In accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014, Part-ML, particularly ML.A.302, the maintenance requirements must be established in the applicable Aircraft Maintenance Programme. Any applicable Airworthiness Directives, Airworthiness Limitations and mandatory requirements must be complied with.

The final decision regarding continued engine operation, inspection requirements or overhaul must be made by the responsible licensed maintenance personnel after reviewing the engine condition, logbooks, maintenance history and applicable mandatory requirements.

After completion of the restoration and certification process, delivery can be arranged either by air or by dismantled road or container transport.

We can assist with dismantling, loading, export documentation, customs paperwork and international transport to the buyer s destination.

The aircraft is sold as a restoration project in its present condition. Inspection in Hungary is welcome by prior appointment.
