The Arrow needs no introduction. It s a family of four-seat light aircraft built by Piper Aircraft and designed to excel at flight training, air taxi work and private touring alike. The PA28 family comprises all-metal, unpressurised, single-engine, piston-powered airplanes with low-mounted wings and tricycle landing gear, entered through a single door on the right side by stepping onto the wing simple, rugged aeroplanes that have earned their reputation over six decades of continuous production.

Production of the Piper PA28 began in 1961 and has run continuously ever since. In 1979, the Arrow was restyled as the PA-28RT-201 Arrow IV, gaining a distinctive T tail the final, most refined evolution of the Arrow line, and the one most sought after by pilots wanting genuine step-up performance.

G-TAPS is a four-place, retractable-gear landplane fitted with a turbocharged Continental TSIO-360-FB engine delivering 200 hp (149 kW), giving it a gross weight of 2,900 lb (1,315 kg). The turbocharging is the real draw here: it lets G-TAPS climb above the weather and hold strong true airspeeds at altitude that a normally-aspirated Arrow simply can t match, while the retractable gear and constant-speed prop make it the natural choice for pilots working towards, or already holding, their complex and high-performance endorsements.
