Description

1957 De Havilland Thruxton Jackaroo Series 1 Prototype (Modified DH82A)

An exceptionally rare opportunity to acquire the Series 1 prototype Thruxton Jackaroo one of only five airworthy examples worldwide.

Originally converted at Thruxton Aerodrome in 1956 from a DH82A Tiger Moth airframe, G-AOEX was completed as the standard four-seat cabin version and first flown on 2 March 1957 by Lt-Cdr Pat Shea-Simonds.

This aircraft holds unique family provenance. Arthur Christian learned to fly in this very aircraft and purchased it in 1985. After a period in storage, he completed a comprehensive restoration, finished in December 2022, returning the aircraft to its original Wiltshire School of Flying red and silver colour scheme.

Since Arthur s passing, the aircraft has remained hangared and deserves to return to the air with a new custodian who will appreciate its rarity and historic importance.

Operated on an LAA Permit to Fly.
