Description
For sale is a smooth-running Reims Cessna F-172N with 160 hp, manufactured in 1976. The aircraft has been privately owned in recent years and maintained in accordance with EASA regulations, offering a reliable and economical platform for both training and touring.
Thanks to a Liese exhaust muffler, the aircraft is equipped with an advanced noise certificate, making it suitable for night operations everywhere. It also features a recently installed backup AV-30 AI/DG.
The annual inspection and Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC) are valid until 23 July 2026, allowing for immediate operation without any upcoming major maintenance requirements.
Airplane time state:
Total Time Airframe (TTAF): 8,510 hours
Total Landings: 15,300
Engine:
Type: Lycoming O-320-H2AD
TBO: 2,000 hours / 12 years
Time Since Overhaul (TSO): 1,450 hours
Overhauled 2009
The engine delivers excellent performance and shows very good cylinder compression values (Cyl. #1: 76 / #2: 78 / #3: 78 / #4: 78). Due to its calendar age, it is operated on condition.
Propeller:
TBO: 2,000 hours / 12 years
Time Since Overhaul (TSO): 1,260 hours
Calendar TSO: 9 years, 8 months
Avionics
The aircraft is equipped with a common avionics setup, containing:
- AV-30
- Garmin Aera 660 (Interconnected with AV-30 and audio outputs for terrain and airspace warnings)
- Funke ATR833A VHF COM radio (8.33 kHz)
- Garmin GTX 328 Mode S transponder
- Kannad 406 AF-C ELT (battery recently replaced, valid for another 6 years)
- Trimble TNL2000 App+ GPS
- S-TEC 60 autopilot with HDG and NAV modes
Furthermore the avionics suite is complemented by a well-functioning 4-seat intercom system.
Regarding the autopilot: it operates in ground test mode, but in flight it usually does not allow engagement of NAV or HDG mode (only occasionally during longer flights). According to the S-TEC manual, activation of these modes depends on the turn coordinator gyro reaching sufficient operating speed. Inspection revealed that a turn coordinator not compatible with the S-TEC system was installed previously.
It is therefore very likely that this issue can be resolved by installing a compatible turn coordinator. Nevertheless, the autopilot must currently be considered INOPERATIVE.
Interior
The interior can be rated 9/10. Several fairings have been replaced in the recent past, and a paint touch-up provides a well-matched color appearance throughout the cabin. Overall, the interior is in excellent condition, clean, and well maintained.
Exterior
The exterior can be rated 6/10. The original base color "Telegray" is in very good condition seeing the age, as are the black decorative elements. Paint touch-ups on various plastic fairings have been carried out recently, resulting in a neat and tidy overall appearance.
The main drawback of the exterior are the red decorative stripes, which would benefit from an good polishing treatment.
A new nose wheel fairing has been recently installed as shown on the main picture.
Additional Features
The aircraft is currently still in operation; therefore, all stated operating hours are subject to change.
